The Amherstburg Admirals are pleased to announce the signing of defenseman Declan McGrath.
The 18-year-old McGrath is an Amherstburg native who played his minor hockey with the Amherstburg Stars, including this past season where he was a stalwart blueliner for the U18 Stars.
“Declan is a player we kept a close eye on at our Prospects Camp in April and then again during our summer skates throughout July,” said General Manager Andrew Sykes. “He has impressed with his combination of size and natural hockey IQ, and we are glad to add a player who brings those elements to our back-end. Declan has a ton of potential and our staff is looking forward to working with him to help him reach it.”
A right-shot defenseman who is listed at 6’5″ and 240 lbs, McGrath will wear #44 for the upcoming season.
