Admirals Sign Three More, Near Completion Of Final Roster

The Amherstburg Admirals announced the signing of three more forwards this past week and are nearing the completion of their roster to begin the 2024-25 season.

The Admirals signed forwards Wyatt Goudie, Jack Wycisk, and Rory Sandison, whom had all been competing at the team’s training camp.

“These three players separated themselves with their play at training camp, which is exactly what you hope to see at this time of the year,” said General Manager Andrew Sykes.

An Oldcastle native, Goudie will play as the Admirals 16-year-old and had been the team’s top target at camp to fill that spot. “Wyatt was who we were hoping to land and we were fortunate to get him given he had some other options,” said Sykes. “Wyatt has a lot of talent and potential with his skill and size and we look forward to working with him.” Goudie played this past season with the Sun County Panthers U16 AAA team, where he was second among all local 2008-born AAA players in both goals and points. “Our 16-year-old has moved up to Jr. B in each of the past two seasons and Wyatt certainly has the ability to follow that same path.”

Sykes then tapped into the Riversde Rangers U18 program, grabbing two forwards in Jack Wycisk and Rory Sandison. “Jack and Rory were watched closely at training camp and they exceeded our expectations with some strong play,” Sykes said of the two 18-year-olds. “Both of them showed that they are ready for junior hockey and they each impressed at both ends of the ice. We see them making very positive contributions to our team both on and off the ice.”

The Admirals have a couple more spots on forward to fill as they embark on their first week of practices at the Libro Centre in Amherstburg. The team practices Tuesday and Thursday night and then play their first exhibition on Friday, September 6 in Lakeshore.
