Admirals Pick Up Three Points To Close Out Homestand

The Amherstburg Admirals defeated the Walpole Island Wild by a score of 5-3 on Saturday night in Amherstburg, giving the team three of a possible four points in their two home games this past week.

The Admirals scored four times in the second period to build a 4-1 lead after 40 minutes of play, and then held on until Brett Jones iced it away with an empty-netter. Jones was top scorer on the night with two goals and two assists, while Brody Gillis and Jake Goudreault each had a goal and an assist.

The Admirals began their two-game week with a home game that was played at the Harrow Arena on Thursday night against the Mooretown Flags. In front of a good crowd in Harrow, the Admirals carried a 4-1 lead into the third, only to watch the Flags battle back to tie the game, before winning it on Carson Crawford’s OT winner. Brody Gillis, Drew Booker, Brett Jones and the first-career tally for Evan Klein were the Admirals goal-scorers.
