The Amherstburg Admirals skated away with a road win over the Walpole Island Wild on Thursday night, keeping pace in a tight battle for positioning in the standings in the process.
Zach Vaillancourt broke a 1-1 score late in the second period, before adding his second of the game in he third period. Two more third period goals from Luka Milosevic and Finn Russett rounded out the scoring, while Bennett Horrocks made 24 saves for the win in goal.
The win moved the Admirals one point behind the Dresden Kings, while also holding two games in hand on the idle Kings.
