The Amherstburg Admirals dropped a narrow 3-1 decision to the Lakeshore Canadiens in Game 3 of the Stobbs Semifinals, and are now one loss away from elimination.
A scoreless first period gave way to a flurry of goals early in the second. Jack Bulmer’s goal for Amherstburg was sandwiched between Lakeshore tallies by Nick Rosati and Brandon LeBlanc and were the only pucks to beat the goalies in the 60 minutes of action, with Marco Sladoje hitting the empty in the final minute to put it away.
In what was a very tight game throughout, LeBlanc’s breakaway goal coming just 12 seconds after Bulmer had tied the game, stood to be the winner. Dom De Zorzi made 27 saves in the Amherstburg net, while Lakeshore’s Boe Piroski stopped 24 of the 25 shots the Admirals sent his way.
The Admirals now need a win at home in Game 4 on Thursday in order to keep their season alive. Puck-drop from the Libro Centre is set for 7:30 PM.
