Admirals Sign Three More Amherstburg Natives To Complete Roster

The Amherstburg Admirals have signed three more Amherstburg natives to complete their team roster heading into the 2023-24 season.

The team announced the signings of defensemen Ryan Dufour and Max Evans, along with forward Brett Jones, all three of whom call Amherstburg home. “We are thrilled to add Ryan, Max and Brett to the organization. All three will be quality additions for this season and potentially for a few years to come,” General Manager Andrew Sykes said. “Brett is a player who brings a nice skill-set and a strong work-ethic up front, while Max and Ryan are both low-maintenance and intelligent players on the blueline.”

With these additions, the Admirals head into the new season with ten Amherstburg natives on the roster.

“Having a good amount of local players, maybe more than in previous years, was something we hoped to accomplish,” Sykes said. “We feel that, the more local players, the better our organization will be in a number of different aspects, and the fact that these guys came in and beat out others vying for spots is a bonus.”

Now with a full roster of 24 players, including returning leading-scorer Mitch Demelo who won’t be back with the club until December, the Admirals will drop the puck on the new season with two exhibition games this week. On Tuesday, Septemeber 5 the team heads to Essex to take on the 73’s, and then they are right back at it the following night to take on the Sharks in Wheatley.
