Toth And Ryan Join Gervais To Form Coaching Staff

The Amherstburg Admiras will have some new faces behind the bench when the team takes on the Blenheim Blades on Saturday night at the Libro Centre in Amherstburg. Justin Toth and AJ Ryan have been added to the coaching staff as assistant coaches under new head coach Zack Gervais.

Both Toth and Ryan have history with Gervais, which will result in some good coaching chemistry between the three. Toth, 29 , has been coaching in the Essex and now Talbot Trailblazers minor hockey organizations for six years at the U15, U16 and U18 levels, including this year with the U18 Trailblazers alongside Gervais. The Oldcastle native also added an OMHA Championship to his coaching resume.

Ryan, 25, was coached by Gervais in his early playing days and now returns to the organization where he began his junior playing career. The Tecumseh native played for the Admirals in the 206-17 season, before moving up to the Jr. B LaSalle Vipers. He also played for the Jr. A Cobourg Cougars, before finishing his junior career with the Chatham Maroons. He then played three years at the collegiate level at SUNY-Oswego St. in New York, followed by pro stints in the ECHL and SPHL.

The new bench staff will start with a big game against Blenheim this Saturday night. The Admirals go into the game one point ahead of the Blades for fifth-place in the Stobbs division standings.
