Two-Point Weekend Moves Admirals Into Tie For Third

For the second straight weekend the Amherstburg Admirals split their back-to-back games, with the two points moving them into a tie for third-place in the Stobbs division.

On Saturday night, the Admirals jumped out to a 5-0 lead after two periods and then held on for a 5-3 victory over the Walpole Island Wild. Drew Booker and Jake Goudreault each had three assists in the game, with Russell Vaughan getting his 12th win of the season in goal.

Back on home ice the following night, the Admirals fell by an 8-3 score to the Lakeshore Canadiens. The team’s top two leading scorers Brett Jones and Drew Booker each had three points in defeat.

With three games left in the regular-season, the Admirals sit tied with the Wheatley Sharks at 41 points, but the Sharks hold the tiebreaker due to having one more win. Mooretown (40 points) and Blenheim (38 points) continue to nip right at their heals in the battle for playoff positioning.
